My son in law's grandfather's home is going to be put on the market, thus cleaning up before Estate Sale.
I found this bike in the garage, but the family will like to keep it & so, I volunteered to clean up bike for them.
My only question here is that I've always seen grey ghost as having...
I'm in desperate need of help with shipping, from Chattanooga (zip / 37419) to california.
I bought an old and very heavy Eldi bike repair stand from an elderly woman from this area and she is over her head as far as disassembling and shipping.
Please PM me if you can help.
I recently picked this up from a fellow CABER, came without a badge, but wanted to put one on it.
The thing is I'm having a hard time finding a period correct badge that will fit, center to center holes measure
1 -7/8". I'm not finding any with holes that close together.
Any ideas ?
I acquired this bike a few years ago only to be disassembled, placed in a box and stored in my garage. Well no more, decided to bring it back to life after all these years. I would say most of the hard work went towards bringing the chain back to working order; many man hours went into it...
Well I purchased this bike some 5 years ago, but it's been sitting in a corner in a box in my garage.
Right after I bought it I got distracted by the TOC bicycle bug.
If I remember correctly, it came out of Wisconsin.
It's a shame that it's been in a box all this time, this bike is a solid and...
Just finished working on this all original 1932 Hermes bicycle, original right down to the bell, with the exception of the chain guard and tires. She is really heavy, but rides super smooth.
I think she cleaned up real well, you can still see the pin striping on those 28" original wheels.
The...
This is a Swedish bicycle, trying to pinpoint the year; serial number is 495833
I'm sure not very collectible, but still a cool old bike... loving that front fender.
Teens - 1920's Oneita Utica 28" wood wheel bicycle (picture heavy)
I just wanted to display a bike I recently finished, a bike I've been working on for a couple of years now; the bike was in pretty bad shape when I found it. What attracted me to the bike was mainly the chain ring and the fact...
Early Tandem {Coloson} project
I've been working on this one for a couple of years now, slow going, but making progress.
Pictures are from as found (N.Y.) condition, stripped down to bare metal and primer as of yesterday.
Really want to get her done this spring.
1920's ??? ~ Help me ID This old bike
I've had this bike for a while now, but finally got it into riding conditions.
Oneita Utica Cycle Co. badged.
The old 28" wood wheels were shot so I removed the hubs and laced them to Velocity P35's.
Does anyone have a picture of a bicycle with this...
Some time a go I bought an old truing stand from a fellow CABE member, but it was missing some pcs. (one of the fingers and the two pcs. that hold the axle).
Once it became obvious I would never be able to find the missing pcs. I decided to fabricate my own.
I picked up a block of solid...
Can someone help me out with prewar horn question?
What is the correct horn for a 1938 motorbike hanging tank?, I assume it has to have two contacts as well as be powered by a 6 volt battery.
Only Motorcycle horns come up when doing a 6v horn search.
thx...
I know the bike is somewhere in the picture, but just can't seem to find it!

I am getting ready to put together a mid 30's Colson - steer from the rear Tandem and don't know what to do about the coaster brake. Knowing my wife, I know I'll be doing most of the work, also is not all flat terrain here where I live and so I was thinking about lacing a 3 speed coaster brake...
If searching for one, how would you refer to it?
I am looking for one, preferably one where you can clamp the seat on either side of the post.
The one I need is about 21.5 mm width seat tube side. Let me know if you have one.
Cheers...
Does anyone have one of these and willing to sell?
Bought this truing stand from a fellow CABE'r, missing one of the fingers. Please look in your junk drawer, or if anyone has a source for these, it would greatly appreciated.
Item in first picture is what I'm looking for.
Okay, so the tricycle is now indoors and all cleaned up.
Special thanks go to Dave "ridingtoy" for helping out with the seat... it goes perfect with this tryke!

I could not resist, but to take this little guy home today, does anyone have an idea on age and worth... I figure, it will now become part of my garden.
Who on here is the CABE's Sunbeam expert?
There seems to be a lot of general information on the net, but no specifics or someone one can ask questions directly.
When ever I purchase an old bicycle I always search inside the frame's tubing to see what I can find, never got lucky until today, it was like finding the hidden price inside a "Cracker Jack's" box!
I found this factory tag rolled up inside the fork's steer tube; I already knew that the...
New project,
I am going to attempt my first re-paint... back to original color as accurate as possible.
Previous owner stripped and repainted this tandem and so I have nothing to go by as far as tracing the darts, diamonds, pin stripes, etc.
Where do I start?, where can I get accurate...
Does anyone have any suggestions as to how to keep this seat from falling apart, it's going to go on a rider, just afraid it'll be destroyed after the first ride... it's pretty crusty!
I am thinking about attempting my first full restoration project and I know I've see some real detailed step by step posts (primer, paint, masking, pin striping, etc.) from fellow CABER's, but I can't seem to find them.
Can someone suggest some of those postings?
Cheers...;)
Is there anyone out there that lives near Elba that can help in getting an old tandem shipped to California.
Three weeks ago I bought an old "Colson Tandem" from an elderly man, he wants to keep his word and ship the darn thing, but he is having a real hard time figuring out how to ship the...
Hey fellow CABER's I know this is not one of those highly sough after rare "Indian" bicycles, etc., but would still like to figure out what I've got here.
I snatched her off of Craigslist for 200 bucks, she seems to be complete and all original, not sure about the paint though as there are...
I've seen bikes in poor condition, but this one just crosses the line.

I know this is an off the wall question, but has anyone ever laced a 36h hub to a 32h rim with good results?
I may have to do that to get a bike rolling before the right rim comes along:o
It seems the longer I stay in this hobby the earlier and earlier my bicycle taste becomes, I guess the logical progression will be a high-wheel bike.
I've been searching for one of these old bikes (up-slopping top tube) for a long time; once I saw one I new I had to find one.
This bike is a...
I am missing one rubber block for this very old pedal.
Can you take a look in your junk drawer and see if you can help me out with one of these? or does someone have a source for reproduction square hole rubber blocks?
thanks.......
I've been after one of these safety bikes (up sloping top tube) for a while and I finally got one. Every thing is huge on this bike, you don't appreciate the size of it unless you stand next to it........ I love it!
Now to the big question; what is it?, the seller did not know the brand, but...
