I'm looking for a matching girls bike for my 1962 Schwinn American Deluxe. I'd like a 26" bike that is in "good" or better condition. Let me know if you have one that you'd like to sell!
I bought a mint 1962 Schwinn Jaguar on eBay. Unfortunately, FedEx must have flipped the box end over end because the head badge was destroyed the rear fender was smashed. :(
Anyway, I'm needing a Schwinn starburst badge in good original condition. I also need the screws and tabs that hold on...
Am I measuring these spokes correctly? They look about 10-7/8.
The old spokes mated a Schwinn script front hub and bend 2spd manual to 26" Schwinn s7 rims.
Thanks!
I'm looking for a bolt set for an early 50s Schwinn. Some rust is OK, but no tool marks.
Specifically, I need the original hardware for fenders, chain guard, etc on a caliper brake Schwinn.
Thanks!
I bought a kickstand removal tool and had no trouble removing the built in kickstand. That said, I'm having trouble re-seating the kickstand again. Anyone have some tips on how to do this? Thanks!
The seat post tube has traces of the decal used on Tigers and Corvettes. The original pedals were Union. So my guess is its a frankenstein Corvette made by some dealer or its a Tiger with a Bendix.
Thanks, that's my Tailmaster project ;)
I bought a 1954 Schwinn Corvette.
It came with painted fenders, a bendix 2 speed hub, and a faulhaber seat. Everything looks original (same patina), but I can't find Corvette's with painted fenders in the Schwinn catalogues. Any ideas how this bike came to be?
Serial number is N10824
Here's...
I'm looking for one of these seats in the original tan color. I need it for my 1954 Schwinn Corvette, which originally had a Persons / Faulhaber seat.
At this point I don't need an exact match, just aesthetically and period correct.
I'm looking for a Faulhaber seat to go on my 1954 Schwinn Corvette. Specifically I'm looking for a seat with a solid top pan that can be used as-is or recovered.
I discovered the top pan of my seat had a rusty sand-like consistency when I took it apart o_O

$25 + shipping to lower 48.
I took this apart to clean and found that a gear / pin is loose. One of the brass rings also has some dents, but its fixable. For that reason, I am selling it for parts or restoration. The hub is dated 1962.
One small dent in the chrome of the horn side. Interior rust looks like surface rust only. Horn is untested because I don't have batteries.
I'm asking for $50 + shipping to lower 48.
Wood bleach is great - its much faster than molasses. You just have to be careful with the concentration included in your soaking solution, and make sure to check it often so it doesn't eat your finish / paint.
I did something similar with a tractor light for a rat rod project! I used the highest lumen LED I could acquire from some Chinese online supplier. The plug in the back is for charging. Pictures are pre-powdercoating.

One of those red finned dual lights has found its way to eBay. Its NOS so its really expensive! Might be worth it if you're trying to finish a restoration.
I need help wrapping up a restoration project. The items I need are:
1. Early 60's middle weight handle bars from a 26" mens bike. These need to be unstamped (i.e. no "Schwinn", see attached photos). I'd like them to be in very good condition. My current handle bars have some deep scrapes and...
I'm looking for a 5581 front and 5582 rear complete middleweight fender brace set. These are the 2 hole braces produced by Schwinn in cad plating.
I need something with good original finish and no dents or damage.
Thanks!
I had a couple Schwinn cad plated fender stays with dark marks / dings, but otherwise essentially great plating.
The original look was a dull whitish gray color.
I decided to take some fine steel wool and WD40 to rub out the dark marks. After about 5 minutes of working on the stays, I was...
I'm looking for a badge similar to this photo, but in better condition (i.e. NOS, or excellent condition). This is from an early 60s bike. If anyone has one, please let me know!
Thanks,
Shawn
Alright, I got my first set of rivets and its a perfect match. I had to tweak the sizes from my previous post.
I still need to source a truss head rivet for the switch. All the rivets will get cad plated. I also need a clear nylon insulating washer.
If anyone wants rivets, please let me...
Yeah, I can imagine! I dont think I've seen one of those lights on eBay before.
I also like the way you have it setup. I've been thinking of doing a wall bike for my house - I've got so much time into my current project that I don't want to ride it. Its more like art to me at this point hah
Speedometer would be aftermarket and almost certainly a Stewart Warner Cadet brand. SW made a Schwinn Approved speedometer, but I think that came in the early 60s.
Circa 1955

Schwinn version (late 50's, early 60s)
I believe these pieces should have started out black. I bought a NOS piece and it was solid black, with a purplish tint. My original photos don't show the blackness well because of the flash and the thinning of the original finish. Thoughts?
Just curious, could it also be manganese phosphate?
This seems more suitable for cones and similar components because of its anti-galling properties. That said, it might not have been available in the 60s.
