My guess is that they used up the prewar inventory on the post war bikes, before switching to the dogbone style rockers.
The dogbone style rockers should also have a different truss bar setrup going up to the torsion spring...
Good afternoon, Im looking for a long shot here... Does anyone have an original potmetal Pacemaker shroud that they would want to sell? I would consider a damaged shrould if all or most of the parts are there... I do have the resin version that would be up for trade or sale, IF i can find an...
Beautiful deluxe lady Imperial!! Im glad someone saved it from being parted out!
Those fenders are AWESOME! Considering Colsons "flash chrome" held up for crap on those post war bikes...
Good morning all,
I am still on the hunt for a Colson Imperial cast grill(s), & post war head light mount. The cast grill is the same for the 1939, 1941 & postwar bikes. The headlight mount is post war specific... I would consider buying an entire carcass to get these parts...
Thank you!!
Sorry for being a dope, I thought you guys were looking for the frame serial number... The badge that is on the bike now is NOT original. I have a buddy that has several scrap frames so, we found a badge dated from the first 3rd of 1977. But again this is NOT the original badge!!!
Good evening,
I have been sitting on this Schwinn Scrambler for a couple of years. Ive tried to do some research, however Im coming up empty. The bike in question appears to be a 1978 MAG Scrambler, which is the first year of the straight tube BMX frame (not the Stingray). Still has blade...
Good evening
I am looking for the CAST GRILL & side TANK INSERTS for a 1939 Colson Imperial. I am told that all of the cast grills are the same, from post & pre war loop tails, to the 1939 Snap tank version. (All of the Mens version anyway) I would believe that to be true as I am using a...
Wow! That thing is clean! Must have never been used.
Im sure everybody knows, but any time you see red handled Park Tools, they were originally branded as Schwinn for Schwinn dealers...
1) Looking for the cast grills to fit a Colson Imperial Grill Tank.
Postwar & Prewar are the same. I will concider any condition...
2) Looking for the softball headlight mount for a postwar Colson cushioner.
Please see attached picture for reference...
Thank you, Howie.
Good morning, I am pondering re-poping the Mercury & Elgin deluxe bicycle lock nuts. These are the lock nuts that have 2 flats on them rather than the regular hex shape for a wrench. I am pondering making approx 25 pairs of the crank & head set lock nuts out of stainless steel. The outside...
If all you need is the, springs just go to the hardware store & buy some. Then crush or stretch per fit. (if needed) My Blister tank was missing the springs & some of the bullet retainers. I remade the missing bullets & sized them to fit a chunk of aluminum welding rod for the guide. Its not...
I was extremely lucky to find a grill tank for my Colson Imperial. Unfortunately it did not include the cast grills. If anyone has a set of mens cast grills, any condition, I'd be interested.
I'd also be interested in the smooth rack for the same bike if available. (entire bike needs to be...
The F in the serial number confirms that it started life as a Bullnose. The fenders are not correct to the looptail style frame, they should not have the duckbill on the bottom. (braces are wrong too) My guess is that the crank assembly & fenders came from a Elgin/JC Higgins...
Fatbike, thank you for the input! Ive never seen the bronze version. Do you have any pics?? Also yes I have to agree these are very brittle/fragile.
In a different post of mine JOHN A. posted that all of the boys grills are the same...IDK.
Id take any grill I could find! If it doesnt...
Good morning all, I am still in search of a cast grill for my 1941 Colson Imperial Grill Tank CAST GRILL. I would buy a the grill, a grill & and tank, or possibly an entire Imperial carcass, to get the tank, grill & other odds & ends I need to finish my bike. Any help or leads would be...
