Can you guys fill me in on “hunter green”. I’m familiar with the Schwinn coach green, spitfire green, opal green, radiant green, lime green, and campus green, but was hunter green a Schwinn color name?

It’s the nut and screw in your first pic. There is a serrated wheel that rotates and rubs against that screw and diaphragm when you push the plunger down. Adjusting that screw will set that amount of “rub” from the serrated wheel.

I realized I have a pair of the BW studded balloon tires up on my tire rack. They don’t have “Carlisle” on the sidewall, just “Schwinn Studded Balloon”. Looking at the date code, would these be March of 1980?

I have a 1979 Schwinn Parts and Accessories catalog. @koolbikes posted the 1980 tire page that indicates a BW and GW 26” Studded Balloon, yet the 26x2.125 Studded Balloon isn’t shown in the 1979 catalog.
