I drove about 600 miles, round trip, for this. I've been searching for a Hunky Shaw's Special for at least five years. This one is a prewar Schwinn Built model. They were sold in a shop in Yakima Washington, started by the professional Baseball Player named Hunky Shaw. A lady named Donna Meyer...

The badge you have is a much later version, like you'd find on mid to late 40's and 50's models.

The 1946 models had a tapered kick stand. They got smaller in diameter towards where it hit the ground. The next year they were the same diameter the whole length of the kick stand.

Aero Flyer, American Beauty, American Standard, Columbus Flyer, DeSoto, Marathon and Road Master

Compare them. Look where the holes are on each badge.

No, the Schwinn Built Road Master badge has the 3 3/16" spacing, not the 3 3/8" spacing. The regular Road Master has the 3 3/8" spacing.

I've seen that sprocket on a lot of Monarch bicycles.

I don't know who owns this or what the year is. If the kickstand is tapered like it looks to me, it could be a 1946.

I've seen them on lots of different models of Schwinn Built bicycles. This one is owned by Oilit on the Cabe. He said it was a 1946

The badge that says Marathon Schwinn Built has the 3 3/16" hole spacing center to center. The American Standard badge has the 3 3/8" hole spacing center to center.

The badge you're measuring is different then the ones I talked about. It is less than 3 3/8" but the others are 3 3/8". If you look closely you'll notice the screw holes are in a different location.

The Columbus Cycle & Sporting Goods badges have the 3 3/8" screw hole spacing. Here's a couple of the badges they had. These are not my badges. I'm sorry to say I don't have any of them for sale
