I ended up figuring it out........I started with one side then flipped the rim over and set the "dish

you can send a pic here or to [email protected]

tar removal
paint thinner or diesel fuel are great.... I like to use lighter fluid for sticky surfaces............basically any petroleum based product will work well
seat post adapter
If you cant find an adapter , just pull the seat post and flip it over. I believe the bottom end is 13/16" and should do the trick...Good luck
Heres a '28
"Premier" badged Schwinn......modern hoops and spokes ,,,,everything else is og........seat isn't correct either but its a comfortable "slider" style seat
Schwinn ....but...
Appears to me that it is a frame for 28" wheels as opposed to 26" wheels. Space between fork and wheel and fender mount to wheel should be about 2". Are those 24 " wheels in a standard 26"wheeled frame?
spoke length
10 5/8 is the correct lenght for both sides . One side will be a 4 cross pattern and the other a 3 cross. I have physically laced one myself so I know it works.

beautiful
Just goes to show, that w/ some effort ,you can be rewarded w/ something beautiful. I have a few friends w/ some crusty bikes and I cant begin to explain how much it will benefit them by just doing 1 piece at a time . Eventually ,you will end up w/ something 100x nicer than what they...
favorite tread
I tend to like the brick tread as they are more round from side to side . Worst for me is the g3 tread because of the square edge . They just seem a little unstable in a turn. Sometimes (for me) they tend to grab the edge and pitch you slightly one way or the other ....my 2 cents
rollfast?
I have an early Rollst ('33-'34 ) and from what I'm seeing, the chain tension screws are 1/4" as opposed to 3/16". Also the head badge has hoizontal rivot pattern w/ no rivots and no holes in frame. Other wise it is a nice rider.Just my 2 cents.
chain revival
I like to give my chains a muriatic acid bath (basically a powerful drain opener).I carefully poor enough acid into a non aluminum container ...let it sit in the solution for a couple minutes ..carefully remove and rinse w/ water then immediately put into a motor oil bath for a...
Just at a glance ,I can tell that it is a pre balloon frame. Space from the tire to the fork crown should be roughly an inch. That leads me to believe the wheels are incorrect. You woud basically be buying a frame and fork...........$150 tops.Just my honest opinion. I have a correct rack for it if...
The steer tube needs to be replaced ,as it has a slight (S) kink in it causing it to bind when turned.I'll get in contact w/ you if all else fails.
Thx for your responses , everyone
Hello
I'm looking for a truss rod fork for a '34 -35' motorbike project . Needs to have a 5" steer tube.I have one but the steer tube is mangled beyond my capabilities.
Thanx in advance.
If its any help....
Just for the sake of having a complete springer. You can go to the local hardware store and pick up a couple sticks of 3/8 (outside diameter )stainless steel tube stock and make your own.Its really not that hard to do.It would definately save you some $$$$$ and if done right...
