Beautiful badge!
Can you imagine carving this badge by hand
to make the master for production.
Can anyone enlighten us more square members of the CABE on how these strong relief badges were created?
Thanks Slick for your info.
Regardless this PM Box Full on the Cabe puts a damper on communication.
I haven't replied to several people because their PMBoxes are Full.
PM boxes suck as most are full
as was yours was this morning Slick
I responded 10 min after your posting
Sure you could say first reply to thread gets it like others but yeah Full PM boxes suck
Won't even bother chasing stuff here on the Cabe
from now on
How do you notarize or document the chain of evidence of a barn find?
For this Autocycle being original or perhaps
as found, the original owner could have changed the tires or got this from someone else unless he has the original receipt or record, showing his name, it's all hearsay...
The potential for someone overpaying for this bike is huge!
Say it gets $18,000.00, will you find another buyer at that price a year from now whenever you get tired of it?
The only positive angle is everyone who's upset there aren't more pics and "say" they won't bid on it, only adds to the...
It would be interesting to see how the potential buyers view these sacrosanct objects of America's fabled bicycle history.
What draws you to these bikes, is the the rarity of a one of a kind survivor, or is the envy of fellow collectors or perhaps just the pure lust of having something no one...
Be grateful Walter is talking to the Guy and don't be BENT the seller is overwhelmed and doesn't want to talk to you.
Should be interesting, my bet is the rest of the bike looks as good as what we see in the picture. A well taken care of one owner bike.
That's my guess.
Rowan Atkinson bought a McLaren F1 for $837,000.00 in 1997, drove it regularly, wrecked it twice and just sold it for $12 million. Now that's recouping your investment.
The legendary Bobcycles Canti with the Perfect Blackwalls was sold to a Bike Guy in NorCal for cash and mega parts horde...
I can only imagine the sweet talk this guy is getting in his emails and phone calls from everyone pleading for him to sell the bike to them......
Do people promise their wives this is the last bike yet you have others just like this one?
No one really understands the depth of depravity this...
Bob! Why are some of these Brown and Tans Hudson badged?
It's like your infamous Bobcycles Canti with the Perfect Blackwalls.
I don't want to feed the original paint market and enjoy spending more on my cycads and other plants.
Great posting with all of these ads Marty!
Here is one I found.... imagine wheeling away with Streamline locomotives on the tracks with your Streamliner?!?
That Kid in the Shelby Ad has a righteous hairdo!
Cosmo Kramer esque or Boris Karloff Frankenstein noggin shaped!
Supreme hairdo to perfectly match that Airflow Supreme! [emoji12]
It's very affordable for me.
You have to decide if you need to restore a badge or find another in good shape.
In this case I was very lucky to find my NW Patrol Oval and I wasn't going to find a perfect example to go with my restored bike.
Contact Dave Stromberger here on the CABE for more...
I just got a bike back from Bobcycles with a neato Northwest Patrol Oval badge
that was restored by Dave Stromberger.
Here are before and after pics of the Badge.
Thanks Dave for such great work! ! !
Bob actually got it past the crossbar and then performed his magic!
These necks are essential to appease the Purists for an Aerocycle or 35 DD Motorbike.
Swapping epic tales of parts that came from "famous" or "infamous" bicycle collectors will be the next hipster trend at the next Cyclone...
I am reluctant to part with this unique gooseneck
that was destroyed by non other than Bobcycles.
Imagine 20 years from now having one of his fine restorations but how about having one of his destructions?!?
It's like having a Jackson Pollock, a Picasso, or a Vermeer from the Master...
This was the original badge off a bike I just got back from being restored......
It says Empire, Steinfeld Inc., New York, USA and the badge holes are in the middle on the sides.
I like the badge,
it has great detail and look at the griffons on the top corners!
Any info would be appreciated!
It would have been great to see this bike left alone despite being more valuable in another color or less questionable color scheme.
Pox on everyone who's owned this bike for letting it get passed around like a Doobie at a Cheech and Chong movie......Dan or Quas got the last toke.....
Awesome badge!
I would love to find that badge too!
That's the earlier Sikorsky S-42 Pan Am Clipper as opposed to the later Boeing 314 Clippers.
I love the Seaplanes from that era.
I have both the Boeing 314 and Spruce Goose in 1/72 scale
Not easy to find either model.
I have a framed...
Need finishing touch for my 35DD Cycleplane.
EA Labs horn for Aerocycle or Cycleplane in good
condition.
Also mounting bracket if possible.
