Hey all, I,m in a remote sort of a beachy place in Sardinia italy, without much connection to the world, and thats def not a complaint, but just wanted to chime in and say thx so much to all of you. Everybody i been in contact with has been awesome and real nice. Yeah Chris's (R.Riley) other...
Yeah, I really hoped it would not come to this and I managed to hold off until recently, but now I have to let go of some serious stuff to keep buying the ones I want most and of course to, at this time, just put food not the table. My girlfriend being unemployed doesn't help much neither. I...
Hi all,
Been a while, ....I know the FS forum has a lot of necessary rules, which I agree with, so I am instead posting here for a sort of general interest. I spent all my money on bikes and can no longer put food on the table. Need too sell something high end ...and quickly, apparently a...
(I've edited this because I can, as tweaky as that may seem I'm kind of glad I can because it sounded a bit intense and really wasnt meant to be but..... )....that video is god awful and I asked that she take it down, I was coerced into it and that's why my enthusiasm is more than curbed. Such...
I'd also like to thank Chris, aka Bikewhorder for giving me the contact for a bike I have really wanted for years which he spotted at MLC - a CCM Flyte Cycle. The regular sized model. The taller one (as in for taller people) looks a bit weird and ungainly. The only other bike I have seen to...
Bikes Galore
Finally got a crate I waited a long time for, part of a deal I made long ago some 4 years ago, this is the first crate of 2 mostly orig bikes (AC, IJ, SK WB, Robin - these are on nostalgic) and the Airflow is partly castelli restored and comes with forky travelog, ND 2spd, I have...
I love me my CCMs and my Supercycles --- I even have a marauder.. But I got some nice olde double bar 28inch (canadian 28 tho) bikes. They are better to ride than any ballooner. TImeless. And practical.
Would prefer a low frame, for a shorter person.
Not a tall frame, as they don't look half as nice, but would accept either.
Like the one in show and tell the day before this posting.
Frame and fork is good enough but the whole bike would rock!
Will pay good money for one cuz I'm...
Imperial - At Last.
Alot of nice bikes on here as usual. A ladies Twinflex, wow!
I'm i the martket for one of those if anybody.....
This bike below has been a bit of wait but it was worth it.
It's an incredibly rare and original Colson for which I have a matching ladies.
And she's...
These are stunning bars, and a good price.
I'll take them if you would be ok to ship out of the US.
You would have to change the price, to ship, at my expense.
My email is [email protected]. If I don't hear from you I'll take it as you don't want to ship abroad, which I...
wow that was a hell of a score. 20 of those!? Cool, that's probably expensive if you wanted to buy them all - actually those are exactly what I need to find at a friends house because I have not as of yet found a reasonably cheap stand I could buy alot of. That's a pretty special looking...
Wow - you don't see that very often! Or ever.... These are one of my favourite models of bike. Shame there weren't any ladies one there as well.
The one furthest away looks orig and in good condition. Pretty special photo that is :)
Scott at some point I will have a bunch of info for...
Ok then, deal? I should probably send you 100 and pay the rest once you have a quote?
If you give me your pp email i will sed you that money along with my address. You can reply here, pm or my email above a couple posts.
Sound like a plan?
Wow I think it's great you are in Manila - I think I know of one other collector of old US tank bikes in the Philippines. For my part, I didnt even know they existed until I'd lived in Canada for a few years, and even then it was just total luck I found and learned about them. So in the...
If you would ship to europe I'd take it. Best looking dyno front wheel ever made in my view - older steel, chrome, can be used on anything and look good.
My email is [email protected] I'm busy at the mo but I can send you the money etc right away and you can take as long as you...
Free bump for posting a pic of my first ever pretty nice high end bike. That TB was my second. Before that I only had a ladies silverking frame and fork, and a ladies Elgin missing the tank. It also has a broken top tube which is why I always go on about being careful on those bikes - make...
I haven't been on here for ages - but it was worth the visit now - nice Wingbar Sped, you really cleaned her up good, and the red, as always, looks great with silver. I thought the chainguard in pic 2 looks good on the bike.
This is for sure the best SK thread on the internet, and one of...
Lastly another 26inch bmx/cruiser/mtb - a Webco sold bike made by Emory Cycles.
Some seriously blue bars on there. Missing chainguard - it has got regular dropouts on the back and is non looptail - somehow opposite to the Laguna. Don't know if the tyres are orig.
I like these bikes...
Next up is a complete orig Laguna - made later I think - maybe late 80s early 90s but I'm not sure I have to research.
Looks alot less toolbox tanky and more like a regular 1930s or 1940s ballooner frame with bmx touches like a looptail, although with rear facing dropouts. This is a 26inch...
Wow JD that's a nice bike, I love those tanks. I think they are one the coolest tanks they made for ballooners. That's a really nice preserved TB. Love that it's only had 2 owners til recently.
I've got a couple of different things this week. People laugh when I talk about BMX bikes - I...
I'll take it if you can ship abroad to Switzerland at my expense.
My email is [email protected]
I'll send you a PM in the morning, it's late at night here.
This must be sold, I can't believe it wouldn't be taken immediately.
I would take:
#23 schwinn trike basket handles $25
#51 lucky seven sprocket $25 ( for schwinn 20" bikes)
If you could ship abroad at my expense.
My email is [email protected]
Agreed - they look amazing done right.
Yes, the tank restored correctly is beautiful - like this:
It was restored by Bob Strucel and it's insanely beautifully done. He is a master - stuff done by him is perfect. As are Bob U's Schwinns, jeez. This is amazing work. The person who...
How much is the TB asking?
And if the pending sale falls through I'll take it if the price is reasonable.
(The prices still visible on the thread are so I guess they all were fair)
Yep there's quite a few 26inch mountain bike folders around now - some look pretty similar to that. They are pretty cool and nice and simple, the dual shock one too. Some have betteries inside the tubing and a motor hub.
I got them on ebay - at the last minute, just saw them and thought I'd probably never have another chance like it. They just look so cool, the way they differ and evolve in size and shape is pretty complex, no way is it just linear. I wonder but I think they join together, at least in groups...
Couldn't you excuse another bike if it folds? It's basically only half a bike, so it's not 'another bike' really :)
I'd love a Japanese folder, those 'puppy' bikes, they even used them in the army. There's a beautiful chrome 24inch japanese folder from the 50s on ebay right now which is...
Thats exactly the kind of thing I had in mind for them - something where they can all be seen together - it seemed like an opportunity.
Also picked up an older yellow Dahon folder and a Bickerton folder. I just like the structures and the mechanics of folding bikes, they are so varied, and...
Wooden bars, ladies I assume, got them for a really low price, I thought they would be a few hundred but they were cheaper so maybe its because they are ladies, not mens. Still looking for crescent shaped ones or any shaped wooden bars really.
Love your quote btw Dave. I'd add
There is a very fine line between 'hobby' and 'mental illness', and you can ride along it on a really cool art deco streamlined bike :)
It's beautiful. I love these bikes and that they were different. The great thing about prewar was the diversity of ideas and innovation. After the war big business made things a little less varied - but some stand out such as these. I always wanted one. All the details are particular it's...
I totally agree with you there sir.
Those minimal twinbars are just crazy works of art mixed with really nice design - art deco had a certain brutal minimal thing about it, and they really have that perfect, but I think what does it for me is that added to that, is that they are pretty much...
Wow 5lbs - that's impressive. It has integrated bearing cups by the looks of it. Are the two holes i the side of the head tube something to do with a gyro setup? Got no clue how old that frame is but at 5lbs and with oversize tubing I am guessing it to be more modern than a typical 80s or...
That Vespa is really nice! I won't be rude and insist on knowing how much you paid for it but something like that, and as old and nice as that particular one, is a serious investment.
Sped you did a great job on the TF pretty quick! That's an elgin tank? Cuz it sure looks like it could go...
This came from Bulgaria - it's apparently a prototype for some kind of military funded project and the bike ended up being used at a circus which is where the seller found it.
There's a few things I really like about it. If you know folding bikes then you will see the front fork kind of...
