Pierce Bicycle Mega Thread + Serial Numbers

Regarding the pierce kramer frame, mine has a peculiar rear dropout, and the bb has no dust cover over the bearings, from the 1916 catalog, thus is for easy oiling track side. Does any of the other racers here show these features as well? Dont see these details in a lot of these images.

    Need Help Identifying Old Bike

There were lots of us bike manufacturers around the t.o.c. is there evidence of head badge rivets? Columbia bikes had model badges as well as he as badges on the stem or elsewhere. Take a good look on all tubes for badge placements, if no visible stamped serial numbers are evident. The forks...

    Help Id Pierce

I have a Frank Kramer special Pierce. I do know that the racer frames have a different drop out at the back and the BBC cups didn't have dust caps. You can see the bearings. It was stated in the catalogs that the frame was made so chain adjustment didn't change geometry and the open bottoman...

thanks for posting pics! congrats on your new find! I think that you are correct in your assumption regarding racer vs. roadster. you do have some great parts! the brake arm/rear wheel is defiantly original. the seat clamp is cool as well! does it have a patent date? I think I see 1926 on it...

OK more pics of this new teens suspension frame find, what is it?

around 1900 to 1915ish just after the boom. are the fenders screwed through the sides at the rear? there are screws in the frame there for some reason. also at the rear fork at the bottlm? maybe the fenders are not supposed to be on this bike.
  25. twowheelfan

OK more pics of this new teens suspension frame find, what is it?

sort of a longshot here, but a lot of higher end bikes around 1900-1920 used english and french fittings. B.S.A.. Brampton was another company. the forks might be Brampton they did make spring forks for motorcycles early on. they also made chains and pedals. check for a name on the pedals. if...

seriously, these tubes served me well for at least two years! i rode on them every day. the ony reason i am not on them anymore is that i retired the bike, and upgraded to a modern cargo bike as a daily rider. i'm getting rid of balloon stuff and focusing on antique lightweight now.
