Here are more detailed pictures of my new G519. I am surprised at how much of the original paint is still intact. The inside of the rims and underneath of the fenders never got the red housepaint treatment. I think these are the original pedals, maybe the experts can say if these early ones had...
Does anyone know if the early Westfield G519's made it out of the factory with the smooth brazed frame joints instead of the rough welds that are typical for most of them?
I just acquired this 1970 Goodyear Car & Home catalog. Here is their Bicycle and trike offerings by Columbia and their parent company MTD. It seems strange how they offer some of them as "Chain Bikes" as if there were another option in 1970. Also "Polo Bikes" is another one I have not come...
I was just contacted by an elderly gentleman who was sold a restored antique 1940 Columbia, suposidly restored 10 years ago. He was told to check my site and the serial number would back up the year. As soon as I saw the picture of the serial number I knew it was one of the 2002 reproduction...
It's been over 10 years that I have had my MrColumbia web site. It has brought me much enjoyment and I've made a lot of friends and found some great bikes over these years, most possible because of the site.
Now things are changing and it is time to move on or bring it to an end. I am looking...
Gotta love the history. It all started with a volcano! Complete with an image hijacked off of my site.

I picked up this Electro brand carbide (I think) bicycle lamp at a local flea market this morning. It's in perfect condition with the exception of the broken lens (2 chips out of the edge). It's got an interesting dial on top to adjust water flow I presume. The bottom says it's a model "B" with...
Found this as I was getting out of my car, literally the very first vendor space next to my car. At Brimfield for 30 seconds and bought a Wartime Columbia for cheap money.
I am going to go over her now to see what it needs but looks to be in excellent original condition with the exception of...
Some of you will remember this Marine Issue WWII Columbia that I restored last year. It was missing the original wheels so I had done it up temporarily with a set made with Army surplus rims and a homemade front hub.
Well, thanks to Tom Warabak the bike now has a set of correct wheels. Not only...
This is not something I normally would have obtained but ended up with it anyway. A friends son-in-law wanted me to keep on eye out for a 70's Columbia racer (he's one of the spandex crowd) and I came across this for $20. It's a 1971 Super X in remarkable condition for it's age. It ended up...
Any thought on this one and the date claims?

Now that I'm done on all the military bike projects that I had it's time to work on the Jet Rider I was given last month. Here are before pictures. I do not intend restoration but would appreciate input on how far to take the refurb. My primary goal is getting it in top mechanical condition but...
As I was finishing up the two Army bikes I got the other two military bikes out for a few pictures. I was thinking of doing markings on the F-92H for Army Air Force. Any suggestions?

Army Air Force?

I picked up this Balloon Tire Compax Military Model at Copake this year. I figured since I was restoring the Army Columbia I might as well sneak this one in.
Missing the following if anyone has extra;
Torrington 8 Pedals, I have the wood blocks for them.
Reflector for rear fender

It's a 1954 Jet Rider 5-Star in complete original and unmolested condition. In rideable condition no less. Actually it kind of found me. One of my readers who received the bike new for his birthday was getting rid of it, his kids wanted nothing to do with it and was on the verge of throwing it...
Did anyone here notice this bike at the Copake auction last week? Despite what the brass plaque says there is a lot of 50's parts. I've never seen a frame this style in Columbia's lineup. Anyone have thoughts on this? Is it a complete but older fake or something mislabeled as to date...
Not too much original left but looks to be a correct frame and bars

I'm pretty close to getting all the parts I need to restore the 1943 bike. Unfortunately almost all the original paint was stripped off in the past but I did find a couple of glimpses of it. One was the inside of the gooseneck. The other is the rear hub as seen in this picture.
I will be...
My latest addition to my collection that I just got back from New Hampshire picking up. This prototype circa 1980 Columbia Trick Bike. I've had pictures and videos on my web site for years of this bike as it was owned by a friend of a friend. This was one of two that Columbia made back in...

Definitely a 1920 despite the description. A bit pricy but has the flared fender normally on the Motobike.
I came across this NOS frame today. I have not purchased it yet. I'm not sure what I would do with it. Is there any interest out there? The guy want's a good home for it like a museum (yah, I know, everyone thinks their stuff belongs in one).
It would make a great display or build up if you...
OK, anybody here have this person's rusty old 3 speed? He checked the Alamo basement so just about 120 million basements to go.

I know one of you rust lovers must have done this.
It's the description that cracks me up. I think they were in much better shape originally

Had CABE member TicTocRob drop off his latest find the other day for a tune up. It's going to stay rusty/crusty and I am getting it in good riding order. I'll post pictures as I go. New tires are also part of the plan. This bike is an excellent example of how the later 3 Stars were almost as...

The chrome is still in great shape for a 100 year old bike.
I guess Ande Rooney gets more valuable when left outside.

As many of you know my main goal in this hobby is to collect information on every aspect of the Columbia/Pope/Westfield organization and then provide what I have learned on my website for all to use.
In that regard there is one loose end that I have not explored yet and have only speculation...
Looking for Columbia child's wagon, any year. I have plenty of catalogs showing this but have never seen one in person. Does anyone have one out there?
Columbia Catalogs Wanted!
Looking for the following Columbia Catalogs;
1923
1946...if it even exists.
Am willing to purchase outright or trade for high resolution scans. I'm not even sure if there were catalogs printed these years. If you have any doubt of what year you have please contact...
I picked up this cool old wagon at the local flea market Sunday. It's in very good complete condition. I've found a little about the manufacturer H.C. White Company. It seems they made Stereoscopes originally and added a complete line of wagons and riding toys called Kiddie Kars and Kiddie...
I recently came into possession of this 1921 advertisement for Columbia Cycles. It's interesting to see what each machine is called.
The biggest surprise to me was that there was a "Girlcycle" that was actually a tricycle made with a frame with a sharper downturn to allow for the little girls...
I bought one of these last year for about $60. I think it's time to sell!

I finally found a Columbia my speed. Just arrived is a 1926 Scooter. Now when people call me "scooter trash" they won't be kidding.
It is in remarkable shape for 90 years old. That is despite the best efforts of UPS to destroy the package then leave it in the flower bed no ware near the front door.
Looking for a mate that would match this TOC grip. It is 3 1/4" long and for a 7/8" bar. I may be interested in a matched pair in similar condition. Please do not PM me. Contact me though my personal email. [email protected]
Well, here is my latest bicycle find. A 1900 Model 66 Ladies Chainless Columbia. I swore that I would not buy any more Ladies bikes but could not pass this one up. First of all simply I love that "American Bicycle Co. Successors to Pope Mfg." Columbia Head Badge.
The tires are what really blew...
A while back I posted pictures of this 1902 Columbia Calendar. Someone suggested that I post the daily quotes as a new thread.
Here is the one for January 31 1902. If you guys are interested and want me to keep posting them let me know.
Also let me know if you would like them all in this same...
Here is 3 of my most recent Columbia collectables. The first is a compass dated 1892. Possibly from the Columbian Exposition of 1892? I've never seen another. It has a grain to the material, possibly made of bone? If anyone has information on it please let me know.
The next is a...
I am finally done with the Marine Issue WWII Columbia. While I was at it I re-restored my 1945 Military Model Compax in Navy Gray to reflect the fact that it was owned and used at the Navel Air Station in Lakehurst NJ during the last year of the war. I also upgraded my 1939 Heavy Duty Service...
Well, a new addition to my Columbia collection will be on it's way from California next week. It's an authentic Marine issue Columbia with the "MC" serial number designation. As is typical it has been repainted to civilian colors. The good part though is it still has most of the good stuff like...
