Picked up one a couple years ago and time to get it rideable,I am looking for a complete fork along with a front fender and rim. I am thinking its a later version.

With the bad chain I could not use a few gears without it sounding like something was going to break,now I can use all the gears and is quiet and just took it on a 21 mile ride which was more enjoyable.

I do not remember ever seeing them.

So far so good,been slowly increasing the pressure and they are staying on and have then up to 75.

The tires I am trying to use are from Bell and the previous tires were Kendas and had no problem airing them up to around 80,I did get the Bells up to 70 after a few miles on them and might just stay there.

Its a 70s Huffy with aftermarket aluminum rims.

No way could I do that,the most in one day for me was 42 miles and was all I could do to get home. That was the longest I ever rode and done it after I turned 50,now if the weather would cooperate I could get more riding in and maybe work myself up to longer rides.

I just put another Kenda on it to get me by until winter sets in and then I will look into better tires.

I do not have the time to clean it up and will put it on CL for 75 and go from there,weather is supposed to get colder this week so no place inside to clean it up inside and if I get a offer for 50 its gone.

Its been many years since I heard of that store,we never had any here in the Dayton Ohio area that I knew of but there were up in Michigan close to the family property.

Who made that Formula V for Wards as I do not remember ever seeing one before.

If what you call the chain ring is the crank sprocket it is original and looks identicle to my 68 Avenger and 70? Westpoint 5

How did I miss this one,I would have bought it even though I have two now.

It was probably done when it was just a old used bike.

My first avenger 5 was sold for gas money and suprised my 10 speed managed to stay around.

The chrome was starting to get rusty when they moved in 73 and would hate to see it now if no cleaning had been done to it since then,its probably a good thing I did not get it as it would have been sold after I got my car and needed gas money.

One day I hope to find a reasonably priced orange version but would not pass up that color,the kid next door got the orange version the same christmas I got the avenger 5 but never learned how to ride a bike. Would not sell it when they moved in 73 and wondered what ever happened to it.

I dont think the seat is correct,I have two that I think have the original seats and got one for christmas in 69 that had a seat like my two. They came with whitewall tires but were not Goodyears and similar reproduction tires are available but not the same brand.

All I can say is check on ebay as I did find a extra shifter cover for my Avenger 5 cheap a couple years ago.

Check on ebay for avenger 5 parts as they do show up,I have two but not many extra parts.
