I bought this bike/parts today and would appreciate some ID help. Early post-war fat bar w/drop center rims? I'm most likely passing this one on if you need any of these parts hit me up.
This ballooner Jag is still sitting in a corner of my garage with the same dust on it that it carried when I found it..."unmolested" as you call it. When the time comes, you are one of very few people on this earth to whom I would sell this beautiful beast. Peace.
I shipped some parts to a Caber about a month ago with bikeflights and I got an email from them when the package went out for delivery saying the address didn't exist. The email said the package would be held at the UPS facility while they waited for me to update with correct address. I verified...
Scwhinnbikebob brings up a very valid point about the ring on this freewheel. The ring seems to be made of exceptionally soft metal and unless you have this tool locked down with zero play...tighter than a drum, the tendency for the two slots on the ring to deform horribly is quite high.

Trying to figure out what bike this is from. Very chunky housing and the only identifying marks that I can find is the number 33 on the reflective surface. Thanks
I thought I remember seeing a few early ballooner Hawthornes having straight cranks like that...but I seriously could have this completely confused with some other bit of bike part obscurity.
And here' Grandpa and the pooch a few years later taking it for a ride...I'm thinking $1750! and I'm first bid all in for 9.95!!!!

I have had a number of great results using boiled linseed oil to stabilize old flaking paint. Use care when applying it over the really rough spots. On these areas I have use a very soft blunt brush...go kind of heavy... and dab it on, so I don't disturb the worst of flaking spots. It seems to...
When you find a small spot to call home in this big, complicated, crazy world... put down some roots... and then try to overwhelm those around you with kindness, generosity and compassion. Amen.
