My friend Tom asked me to come out of retirement to wrench for the women’s Little 500 this past Friday. The rookie team I was working for was a great group of ladies who placed 15th in a field of 33. Not bad!
It didn’t help that one of the riders went down in turn one on lap 2 or 3. I had to...
In case you missed the last Hussey, here is another that I’m reluctantly offering up to a new home so I can sink some money into other projects.
Pics tell the story.
Let me know if you have any questions.
No apparent damage that would prevent the stem and bar from functioning.
Both wood...
The cutouts on the bottom bracket shell are characteristic of a bike that used a Fauber bottom bracket and crankset. (They have threaded bearing cups if you weren’t already aware, so be careful if you need to remove them)
My Iver Johnson made Lovell special had the same type of bottom bracket...
With the collared seatpost cinch, clamp for the headset, lugged front jointery and very well crafted rear fork ends, I would with great certainty say that this is not a tens-teens Crown though that chainring was used on Crown bikes.
I also think it's closer to 1900s than teens. I suppose the...
Looking at the pictures, I don't think $2k is off for everything you show as far as part out prices go. I think finding the right buyer who wants multiples of everything will be the challenge. It may be easier to make a package of only the parts that would be needed for the restoration and then...
do you already have a hub and you just can’t read the stamping? A 1920s hub should be nickel plated if you’re looking for any historical accuracy. I believe those earlier morrows had the stamping transverse along the same path as the axle (counter to the later stamping that wrapped around the...
Nice solid Hussey Handlebar with threaded ferrule for use with Hussey Stem (not included)
Bar width is just about 21" on this nicely patinaed piece. Grip length is around 3" perfect for some short glove leather grips or leather strap wrapped grips.
Withdrawn
Shipping included in Continental...
Nice solid handlebar with threaded center.
Some nickel remains, but heavily patinaed.
No dents or cracks that I could see or feel.
Low rise/drop. 21” wide outside to outside with approximately 3” of grip space. There was a shorty wood glove leather grip on it when I got these (not included)
I...
This one is on eBay (not mine) https://www.ebay.com/itm/145581846902?mkcid=1&mkrid=711-53200-19255-0&siteid=0&customid=link&campid=5335809022&toolid=20001&mkevt=1
The top screw is to take up the "slack" between the reaction arm and the chainstay. It mounts to the stay using a brake arm strap just like the Model C, then you tighten the vertical screw till it meets the stay (kind of like a chain tensioner screw) I suspect it was to keep things from moving...
Keep your eyes open for velocity Blunt, or blunt 35 rims for sale in 36h. They come up occasionally for less than $100 used. Hubs aren’t that expensive for legit inch pitch. No need to slum it with the KT or histop stuff.
Noah Stutzman wood wheels would be nice, but not less than velocities as...

Used Whizzer Sheave. Looks straight should clean up ok. No heavy pitting. No mounting hardware. Accidentally touched the cutoff wheel to the edge resulting in a little shiny spot, but nothing too nasty. (See pic)
$60 shipped in continental U.S.
1. Missing wedge and bolt $20
2. Ready to use highly patinaed nickel $25 SOLD!
3. Someone beat on the bottom of this one, but it still works. $25
4. Decent chrome $25
5. Handlebar eye is a little misshapen, but it will hold a bar tight and conforms to it once the bolt is cinched. Nickel plating...
It's packed and ready to ship if you want it. PM me if you do. I'm going to list it in the classifieds if not, but as you had a wanted ad, I figured I'd give you first shot.
Thanks!
$60 shipped. Sorry, but I don’t have the hardware. It’s solid with plenty of patina. I did touch the cutoff wheel to a part of it when I was removing the random assortment of screws holding it to the wheel it was on. (See last pic)
I picked up another WPA outhouse (a 2-holer) so now I guess I have a collection. This one will be turned into a chicken coop like the last one I got (2nd pic). I didn’t take the concrete stools for either though.
These were built in the 30s to help promote hygiene in rural areas I believe.
The Stems in Nate's Pics are the super long reach moto-bike stem and the zero reach stem. I think you're just seeking a normal reach stem if it's the one in your first photo. The shorter stem in your next photo doesn't look like an Iver stem due to the sharp shoulder instead of the rounded...
Some noteable goodness, The Christy Saddle, front brake appears to be all there, everything seems to be in decent condition considering it's probably not been in climate controlled storage for sometime. The chain adjusters themselves are quite remarkable.
You're a crank arm and pedal away from...
