The seat on the midget is a repop. Check to see if the chain on the '69 says "Sedis". I can't remember if the Mag sprocket still said "patent pending" in '69 or if that was only on the '67-'68 models. Was the mag sprocket first available in '67 or '66? I think '67.

My first Krate was a '69. I went through it with a fine-toothed comb. I even took the derailleur completely apart. Your's is a 1970 model, since it was made in Dec. of '69.

WHY is that date incorrect? HS is an Aug. '81 bike. Schwinn made their own bikes until '82. After that, Giant from Taiwan finished their production in '83, if I'm not mistaken.
