Finally finished my 54 Jaguar. 90% original except for bars, fenders, spokes, tires and tubes. Serial number says frame made in December of 53. Rear hub is sturmey-archer stamped 54 2. Paint color is exact match from inside of Crank and steering tube. 3-speed Hub shifts fine and bike rides...
I'm restoring a 54 Jag and I'm looking for the earlier design of this seatpost decal. Is there anybody out there that is reproducing this style, or could reproduce this for me, any information is greatly appreciated. The early Gothic one with the high ears.
I am building a 52 Phantom if I was to order this with a two speed from the factory can anybody tell me what it would come with? Sturmey Archer, new departure, Etc. And what type of shifter. Thanks for any info.
Here's my 62 custom twin straight bars with a 2-speed kickback, balloon tire, finished in candy purple. Looking to add some crate Style fenders eventually, this is one of my favorite rides,
You're right Wes I'm in the process of restoring a 1932 Schwinn Camelback which was the last year Schwinn used 28 inch wood clad rims with glue on solid rubber tires. 1933 was the year Schwinn change to 26 in balloon tires
Did Schwinn ever produce a pre-war frame with the drop stand ears as part of the frame. There is a bike on eBay listed as Schwinn that has these ears incorporated into the frame. Does anybody know possibly what years and what frame types that this occurred.
Great job on the restoration really like the pinstriped rocket rays and the matching gum walls and grips. Be sure to give her a padlock and chain would be terrible to lose this beauty!
@Goldenrod thank you very much Gary menighan out of California did the restoration he also did a 34 motorbike that I have he pays close attention to detail and originality
