Hi. Since you are retiring and I also see a post about someone looking at starting. Both of you have a love for bicycling. Can you share any and all hints, tricks or just plain good stories you might think anyone wanting to make recreations would help. Thank for posting and congratulations...
If you really want to get knee deep in it. Look for real pattern makers and tooling people. They still exist in the US.
I don't think some of the grips that we see repopped are made in soft molds. Like silicone mold, they are tooled up and manufactured. Costly up front but if you crank out...
Regardless of shipping be mindful that the driver found your honeyhole. You might want to alert you buddy and add a motion light or something.
Also in most cases eBay helps the buyer unfortunately. Sometimes it works out for both.
26" Ballooner wheels morrrow hub. Schwinn front hub. Heavy duty spokes. The rear had a crack. There is a bit of a repair and the bead holds now it's ugly but holds. Currently holding 30lbs pressure. Cool looking patina and same patina chain wheel goes with.
Wheels with tubes and tires and...
All I have is some grainy pics. The lower front looks like a whizzer sportsman fork but I can't find any photos of those forks taken spare just the chrome lower part.
Any help would be great.
If you are doing a one off for yourself, it should be fine, it hand made and not mass production. As long as your not doing a run of them.
Also you'd be supporting a local business.
BTW I saw HD was making something like this now, but but all "imported"...
Expect Chenille about 12" by 4"...
Its gotta be a 33-34 as I believe the 35 got the more curved rear top ford and its got almost lug style build. I have two of these. Also in 35 you could get balloon fenders or raingutters, please chime in anyone. I love these style frames.
Most the ones I seen have the Torrington deco stems in...
Hi guys. This is a great thread.
When I built my bike a did a lot research and made a thread with the build and have help many make their own. I screen capped all the scene in the movie and got measurement from at least two know screen used bikes. In fact my buddy made copies of my bags and...
Looking for Hornlite or Silverray base, can be repop, if you have a mount bolt that would be great also!
Really if there is a Hornlite some needs to off load, let me know.
Thanks. and Happy New Year!
There was a page in Stromberger’s bicycle site that had some pages where I found info on a prewar 24” I had. It was a girls but I sold it as the swap to complete a boys bike. Excelsior badged. With single tube metal clad wheels.
I would say the dealership and owner should post it on IG and have all their friends post it. This seems to be the way to get your stuff back usually. I seen it successful with cars.
this sucks and hopefully the bike is found.
I have similar copy of that model. Like Bob says is a ‘34. The upper rear legs at the rear are straight. They curve in ‘35 and on.
Also not sure where this serial numbers are
from, I thought records of prewar numbers were lost to a fire?
Two different bikes. The details on the cheaper one were correct to the movie. The second only popped up after.
Thanks for reminding me why I don’t come here so much anymore.
I mean you can just about count 10-15 “rare” Aerocycles on this board and half of them look the same. Red and...
Good deal! Good for the buyer!
Looks great. I rather like the cheesy look of the old chrome tape. I think this build used Alsa chrome or something like that on the bag ribs
Aerocycle front and rear hub set complete see pics. Both complete correct bearing ends on hub.
Update price and found a second rear shell that will include with this set.
mussleman hub with bump.
Correct date one the rear hub.
Some paint on the front hub. Looks like it saved the chrome under...
It actually may be more. cleaning house.
Not into the classic bike thing so much anymore.
Anyhow I have about 3-4 bins and maybe 2-3 project bikes that will be going.
Cant do swaps. But will give it a go here over time.
I have not been here very Much anymore due to car projects and to be...

Seems to be common route here, in CA,..there is a Wizard that you go to and say "I seek the Steel of Wonder", you leave some beans-under his window on a hazy, smoke filled California night, then Magically a few nights later a Metal tank will appear under your bed. Then you just do this a few...
I occasionally check. I found some single tube 52mm for very cheap like 25.00 each. Reg price 78.00. But they would not work with fenders. Luckily some MTB guys are moving to single tube and I have more sizes coming. The only that ate close are 34mm TUFO. I have seen some people with...
