Besides all of the other red flags, the fact that is says 1952 is one of the biggest giveaways to me. You could simply post it as a Whizzer sign and not say anything and the 1952 will validate it's age for certain buyers.

Basically, I want to add a springer to this 1941 Schwinn DX, as I was told that the original fork assembly was a springer. It never had a tank so it has no bumper, and I am just wondering if this really could have had a springer?

I am just curious if there were any DX bikes that came stock with only a springer and no tank and no bumper.

I just bought one of these from the same guy. I am glad that it's just a NOS rear hub. That's what I needed.

I always prefer a clean look, but with some patina. Then you can enjoy riding it without feeling like you are going to scratch it.
