Yep, it's a camel back. CCM, date stamp is on the seat post, top, left hand side. Not a light delivery bike... $145 is a good price. It would be $200- $250 out here, on the left coast..It should be returned to Canada, it's the right thing to do...
I use a 12 volt rechargeable battery for my front light with a 12 volt LED light. You can see the bones in your hand should you put it over the lens. For the rear I use a 3 volt LED ''chip'' that will fit nicely behind most rear lenses
Yep, you're distroying a bit of bicycle history just sell it to someone who will look after it and ride it..
Frankly there is more to life than bloody greed...
That's a nice bike, Never sell any bike as a garden bike.
Just clean it up with soap and water, lube it, and sell it if you don't want it.
Fairly rare bike, for the US $ 150 is what you should ask if it's ready to ride...
You can goggle Robin Hood bicycle, there is quite a lot on these...
It is such a shame to see these beautiful old bikes stripped and what's left over, junked. It's like tearing down beautiful old buildings, and it's all just to make a greasy buck...
Re-pop it in iron....That is very cool. It would be easier to do it in iron. I know you guys are going to hate this idea, but first I would take it to Vermont Castings and see if they would do it, get them to sex up the casting. and if VC didn't want it I would do it in china. I have a bigish...
There is a CCM site and a facebook site, and they would be happy to answer any questions. Nice bikes. If you wanted to sell the woman's loop frame, you would get a better price in Canada...For those of that don't know CCM was the number one bicycle company in Canada for many years...T Mar that's...
That is a 1937 CCM light delivery bike. I'm the second owner, and it sat in my basement for 40 years before I had it blasted and painted, 'cause it was rusty.
The forks are Humber duplex forks, quite rare, because if You bent them, they were toast. They are worth more than the frame in England...
I have a delivery bike that's a more common design. That one looks like it was made for very heavy weights. I've seen a lot of delivery bikes, but nothing like that.
Something else, you can get Sturmey Archer parts off the shelf with build in drum brakes and as well you can get ''speeds'' with the drum brake. I put 3 speeds on mine. Stops on a dime.
Don't sell it for parts, that is a fairly rare British built bike, around here $300-$350. Yep a unique bike, I've never seen a BSA 3 speed with drum breaks. Don't part it, just sell it to a collector if you don't wan't it. A good market would be England if you're in eastern Europe, but you...
Yes you have a duty to history. Some bikes are works of art and if you own one, you have an obligation to restore it or pass it on to someone who will.
>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>
Just like any other work of art..Making a beautiful old bike into a rat, is just the same as scratching...
That's one of the most beautiful bikes ever designed, sadly, it is rusting into scale and needs a total resto I don't see anything wrong with a blast, prime, repaint, you won't loose a cent in value and you will be preserving a work of art...
Oh, here's some info....You have a lot of work ahead of you...
There is lots of info on the net in England and the US, for parts ,look in England and Canada, I would look on both CCM sites, facebook and vintage CCM.
That's a great show.
Just think how many people are going out to where they store stuff, and figuring they now want to sell some of those things...
The alternative is to have bits of history rust into scale...
Oh, that's right, you guys like rust...
I'm guessing CCM Catalina. There should be a serial number near the top of the seat tube, left hand side, but as I'm not familiar with that model, the SN could be anywhere.
