I have a full Post on these bikes currently going on, and it was suggested I go here to seek additional help. Thanks in advance!

So, am I to now assume now that the first bike is a Great Western 1923... and the second a Westfield 1916...?
And again, MANY thanks for the input to this point!! π
@Archie Sturmer If you had someone (bike shop) do it, I'm sure it would add up. Add to that the tires and tubes (which hold air).
Truth be known, I payed $50 for both bikes. As I mentioned earlier, they were on Craigslist for a month. Guy told me I was the only one interested in them. π
The...
The Great Western bike with the curved bend... first bike shown... had the original hub mounted to new rims and tires. Any idea as to what this would have cost? I know it can vary by quite a bit, but I'm curious to see what kind of money was put into this bike. π§
I'm eventually going to be...
Picked up these two 1920's bikes yesterday from Craigslist that had been on for a month. Identified as Great Western and Westfield by some of the brains of The Cabe by doing this for me.
I have a full Post on the bikes ins and outs if you're interested! π
Thank for your input also!!π
At some point I need to decide what I'll be doing with either one of them... but nice knowing that they're as old as I was hoping for. π
Fred
Thank you for info! Greatly appreciated. π
Sad to say, I've never heard of Great Western. Where were they out of, or were they a subsidiary of a major marque?
Fred
Got these yesterday from Craigslist after seeing a photo of them hanging in a garage. Men's frames, and the guy wasn't asking a lot. Only 20 minutes from my house, so I figured what the heck.π
Any clue as to what these are? First bike has relaced hubs to new rims, the second bike has old...
Finished. But it's been raining all day, so here's a quick shot inside. All my better bikes are up on the third floor of my house, and thankfully this is one of the lighter ones! I'm getting to old to be carrying the bikes up two flights of stairs to work on them. π
@juvela The "bump" was actually to much "previous owner" tape rolled around. Both sides are the same. π
All tape and original protector tape are now gone. And what a pain to get all of the sticky off! It took WD-40 and Goof-Off to remove it all.
@juvela This was made in Greenville... U.S.A.
As far as your other concerns, I haven't even hade a chance ride it yet. Not sure if the opening on the other side is the same size or not.
BTW, I pulled off the tape, of which part was original, part added to the bike. Paint is all good beneath.
Well, I found out why the seat post was loose (which I knew wasn't original to the bike when I bought it). It didn't need tightening. It was as tight as it was going to get! π€―The seat post ends by the bolt were touching...π Did not notice this as I was to excited on the overall condition. BTWE...
Hi Tim! Hard to say if I'll keep it or not. Usually bikes in this shape are so hard to come by in this condition, no less my size, that I keep them... at least for a while... π
Picked this one up about 15 miles from my house. Guy was selling it for his neighbor who barely rode it, he told me, and it looks it. The seat, seat post and pedals were changed out at some point, but all else looks original... including the tires.
Bike is as I picked it up, which is pretty...
Age is how you feel, and I feel great!! π
I also just finished my fifth and last dose of Cyberknife for Prostate Cancer, and all looks good! π
I'll post photos as I get to it. Still trying to get to finish up some other bikes π€ͺ
@Mountain Trail Andy Wow, I must have been in a bigger hurry than I thought just to get the bike and get it home, because I didn't even notice the rear facing dropouts!!! π
Man, am I getting old...er... π¬
Thanks Andy! She's in line for a detailing. π
I haven't gotten any further than I had on the Roadmaster I bought a couple of weeks ago, though. I've been detailing and selling many of the Raleigh's I bought! Westfield will get there!
fred
Many thanks, Adrian! You always come through with the Columbia / Westfield serial numbers. Shame about the bottom bracket, though. I haven't even really given the bike a good inspection overall yet. Just wanted to get it with rainy weather coming. π
Maybe the Saint Christopher Medal on the head tube kept the girl safe when the frame initially cracked. Quick look appears to be that it was fixed to a point way back when.
I know, I know. It's a girls bike. π¬ Seminole .
But it's all there, from what I can see, from birth. Even the tires. And I couldn't pass up the price on it. π€ͺ
It has flat fender braces, so I'm ASSuming the later 40's... Post War. And when someone can, please let me know what year it actually...
SIX BIKE RALEIGH WEEK... and purchased all from the same owner... over a few days. π
I went to purchase a 1966 RSW, and saw he had a Superbe, among other Raleigh bikes. So I took those two home. Got home and said "I should have taken two of the Sports", so I called him (and he said was just...
Depends where you live. I sold the last one I had a couple of years ago for around $275-$300. Mid 70's bike. Condition, of course is everything. Mine were all very good to excellent.
