Tim the Skid

Skidding on my '41 Schwinn Autocycle
I got this from a co-worker whose grandfather bought it new in '51. He rode this bike often and well into his eighties. I left it alone except for new tubes ,bearing repack, and a new chain. No beauty queen for sure but a great rider.

I've found that the original bikes are usually the best riders. Most restorations that I've bought were not restored with riding in mind and I usually have to tear them apart and sort everything from tweaked stays to adjusting guards and fenders, etc... I have bikes that sat in sheds for 40 years and with nothing more than a good service, like you mentioned, ride like new. V/r Shawn
