Saw this yesterday hidden in a sizeable collection in VA, I think I counted 10 sexy Shelbys in the mix, this one being the cleanest.

Original paint you think?

Very unusual to see them badged as Airmans (sold through Siegels). Also looks to be a later ('40?) model but unusually equipped with plain rack and straight braces yet has deluxe guard and seat. That would be a nice bike to have provided the price was right. V/r Shawn

It's a late 1938. Flat top fork, big guard, McCauley fenders with early braces. And it still retains the Shelby script swan stem. Oh and that chainring wasn't used in 1940 either. 40 is a cross over year. No drop stands were used in 1940 either. Trust me... I've got 20 shelbys in my collection. All between 1936-41. As far as the paint.. touched up but original. Even has yellow on the rear fender rivets. So I'm assuming only the yellow was touched up by these photos.

I have a rack exactly like that which came on a '39/40 Monark built girls Airman. Looks like they sourced some parts specifically for their bikes. V/r Shawn
