Look Ma, No Hands!
Both my ‘46/’47 (serial #C71663) and ‘47/’48 (serial # D26940) DX’s have the kickstand mount angle that requires a kickstand with the tighter bend. While my ’49 and later frames all have the more relaxed bend in the stands.
Both the early frames where found as frame/fork/guard only so I have nothing to go on other than the serial number for dating.
Thinking that all early frames with built-in stands would have the same mount angle, why would the tapered stand (’46 only) that I recently purchased from a member here have the more relaxed bend of the later stands?
