Krakatoa

Riding a '38 Autocycle Deluxe
Hello all,

Picked up this neat motobike carcass recently sans headbadge, and am feeling a little stumped. After reading the various sweetheart chainring threads the ring appears to be a Colson or Shelby. The frame has a 19" crank to top of seat tube measurement. It has a bolt thru seatstay type seat tube clamping. The fork appears of very high quality (maybe not from this bike?) and has a small C within a circle underneath the U as shown, as well as unusual keyhole shaped slots in the lower fork ends. Again the fork is not like what was offered on a Colson. Something that is throwing me off on this one is the flared lugs on the bottom bracket that appear to like Snyder built bikes. Also the Colson versions of this bike seem to all have incorporated dropstand ears. The serial is S16841. Going to look at Hawthorne versions now. Any help on this would be much appreciated!

Nate

Now down to the fork.... I yanked it out and stripped the paint. Looks like it was originally nickeled and polished. Also there is a pin that goes through the crown and steering tube. Also while I was there I bashed out the evil remains of the bottom of an old stem~ now that was fun...NOT!!!

Notice the small C inside circle mark underneath the U of the fork crown...

Any ideas on maker/year/application?
