Prewar Hawthorne, looking for info

Picked this up at a farm auction, the serial # is H96479 with 2 s's ck pic.

Neat bike. May have nice paint underneath, go easy. Probably a 1939 model. SS may denote Streamlined Sports. See equipment options in '39 catalog below. Wrong seat, missing fenderlight, rack, rear dropstand & clip. Snyder built bike Little Falls NY.

Thanks for the info Krakatoa, I can see the original paint, i wiped the bb off with a mild degreaser and it looks promising.

I also purchased a rack and seat at the sale that was laying on one of the 15-20 rack wagons, and after seeing your pic I believe it came off of the Hawthorne.

The seat is a 50's schwinn, and a front fender off of a schwinn fastback. There was a rough fastback and jaguar I bid on to but another guy thought they were worth more than I did.
