what year and model?

View attachment 411437 A friend just gave me this chain guard and a rack from the same bike. That's all was left from the bike when he got it. It has stamped ribs @ the stripes. I'm wondering what year and model bike it came from? Thank you.

A pic of the rack may help narrow down the model. I would say early to mid 50's lower tier bike such as Meteor, Leader, or Tornado although most of these were not equipped with a rack.

I'd also say a 53 Deluxe Spitfire if the carrier came with it. That guard was on a few 1946 thru 1953 models and like Shawn said, the lower end pieces. I believe the guard was slightly changed for 54 with a flat area in the center for a model decal.
