On Training Wheels
I have a bike and would like to know how old it is. The serial number is B17583 Any ideas?

Looks late 40's, maybe early 50's to me. CWC serial numbers aren't really decoded yet, I'm just basing off of design style.

Based on the earlier styled curved fender braces I'm guessing 1943.
But, I'm no expert on CWC serial #s...would like to be though.
I do like the weathered brown color and those rims.
Wonder what the original color was? Blue?

It's all about the Tanklights!!

How did I run out of room so fast?

Serial says 1947 and the features agree with it. Curved braces lasted through ~1948, and the dropouts changed for 1950.

I agree with the 47 date. I recently purchased the same bike . Mine came equipped with black out hubs
