The domed is likely prewar and is nickel or chrome plated brass, the dished is likely post war and is base metal/steel stamped and chromed so when the chrome wears off on the brass one, brass shows through, and when it wears off the steel one, guess what... you see bare steel. ;o)
Both look old and orig though...
