Neanderthal77

Wore out three sets of tires already!
I picked this up yesterday and was wondering if I could get some help with a year and make? I read about how elgin switched the names around. The serial number is N14038. Also the badge is the slanted Elgin. Thank you for any information. Frank

Thank you cds2323. I didn't think it would be that old. I have two more questions then. Are the parts that are there original to the bike? Also what would this be worth? I really like it but I have several projects that I would like to finish. I could use the chain, seat, seat post and handlebars but I can't bring myself to take them off if they are original. So I would be looking to sell or trade for the parts I need. Thank you, Frank

The seat is probably not original to bike, appears to be from around 1938. The chain and seat post aren't unique to this bike either. The handlebars are probably from this bike. The rear fender is also newer than the frame. Can't see the wheel rims very well but usually they're triple step rims in that period.

Send me a PM with other parts you need, perhaps we can work a buy/sell/trade for the frame/fork depending on what you need/or I have for your other projects.

Chris
