This is a tough one. My absolute favorite bike has to go to help fund a bucket list project. It's a 1908 Iver Johnson diamond frame roadster. All original, paint and all. Nice Corbin Duplex rear hub. A true survivor in every way. Ties hold air for days at a time, so it is very ride-able. Tires were added after these photos were taken.
I am asking $1,900 shipped anywhere in the lower 48 states.

What is the screw, in the crank, used for?
I had a 1909, with a snowflake chainring.

You know Giovanni, I can't even guess, but it does look quite deliberate. Definitely not an after thought or a quick fix. Hopefully someone on here might know and shed some light on it.

If you're talking about the where the crank connects to the crank arm, it's a 2 piece. That crank arm on that side comes off.

That's a given. There is a small screw on the crank, next to the axle.

that screw in the crank arm holds the adjusting cone in place( no lock nut), then they put another screw to hold the first screw in
