Riding my '38 Deluxe Bluebird
Friend of ours found these 2 sets recently, one looks like a 28" , just over an inch wide I think, with no holes drilled for spokes-? Would these have been stock for a factory/store and just never got drilled out?

2nd set is a nice original finish set stamped Lobdell, a bit smaller diameter than the other set so must be for 26", look like around 1" wide, stamped Schwinn on the hubs, rear is a fixie, what would these have been for? Send a PM if you have any info or interest.

Thx,
Darcie/Nick

Those rims are for the "spoke less wheels" on some of those early bikes! Ha-Ha ~ Cool find.....

Those undrilled ones may have been on the ends of a crate of drilled ones, serving as the end caps. Who knows?

racing shops with an eye on the $$ bought un drilled rims and thread-less spokes ---and they drilled the rims ( indexing machine- 24, 32,36 40 spoke hole) Pop's in Newark NJ was a shop like that they also built working frames for racers nothing fancy but the real thing

Interesting that you mention racing, the place these came from has racing TOC and teens bikes, good call.
