Elgin hand saw

American Vintage Bicycle Supply

Cruisin' on my Bluebird
You might have noticed that I have been posting a lot of bikes for sale recently. The reason for that would be because of the pick I went on last Monday. I was able to get into a three generation furniture shop with the original owners grandson. So many cool things inside. Pulled out a total of 5 bikes which have all been sold and are on the way to their new caretakers.

I always try to save a souvenir from every pick and this one just happens to be an Elgin hand saw. So much history packed in 1 simple tool.

I would loved to have gotten that 2 wheeled contraption on the floor at the end of the fiddle bow--might be for a butter churn. Also that little cabinet on the floor on the left in the same picture--actually, being an old antique guy, I would have went nuts in there!

Now I know where the J. C. Higgins spring for the "bee hive" fork came from. Is that band saw an early Sears Roebuck design?
