Monark chain master link removal

When I first started out in this hobby I used to have this same problem. Having never worked on a bicycle before.
With the master link placed between your finger by holding each link on each side bend the chain away from you to take the tension off the link plate. Sometimes bending back and forth is needed on stiffer chains. The master link outer plate should pop off. Sometimes (more than not) a small screwdriver is needed to pop one end off the link.
If that doesn't work then use a chain breaker on one of the solid links.
