Hawthorne twinbar zep cwc restoration help

-

I live for the CABE
I posted this bike before, and the general consensus is that it's a real zep.

So first off, I'm wondering if it really is a zep, or the tankless twinbar model. Is there a difference in frames?

The serial number has a weird circle, devil horns symbol.

My two year plan is to restore this bike. A good friend of mine found it years ago, and I built it as a beach bike. It was stolen from him, recovered, and spent a lot of years bashing to and fro bars in newport beach.

Before he left on a three year working stint in Belize, he told me he was selling all his stuff, and a neighbor was going to give him $100 for the bike, but if I wanted it he'd let me have it.

I told my boss i had an emergency and had to leave immediately, hauled ass over and picked it up.

So my plan is to restore it and give it back to him when he gets home in a coupla years (yeah, he's that good of a friend.)

I'm looking for info on everything. A complete list of original parts, basically.

I don't know what's on it now that's original to the bike, so here's what I have so far.

Rims obviously are wrong. It has a musselman coaster, but it's got 12g spokes. I know that's not right, and may have been drilled. Front wheel is newer.

So, what type of drop center rims, and what hubs are supposed to be on it?

The fork is a three tier crown, hollow bladed, that gets fatter at the dropouts.

Also has a horseshoe truss rod bracket, and the rods have bolts in the top bracket.

Peaked fenders that look like they have all the right indentations, and curved struts (missing one front.)

Stem and bars? Not sure.

Dogleg cranks and sprocket look correct.

Bottom line, is if anyone knows all the correct parts from top to bottom, from grips to kickstand, I'd really appreciate the help.

Looks like a tankless non zep model, would have a fork lock if it were a zep, be a cool beach cruiser thow, good luck

need a picture of the fender stay behind the seat post so we know if it is cwc or snider

Anyone else have one of these? All I can find is mine and the fully restored black one. Gotta be more than two 39, CWC built twinbars out there...

I'm no expert on this bike, but I think you are going to have to dig around and do your research to get this correct if that is what you want, I doubt there is a definitive prescription or list of parts for you to just access. You need to become the expert.

Been digging deep. Not too much info anywhere.

It'd be nice to find more than the one old ad everyone posts, yknow, something that say "this bike has new departure hubs..." etc.

Wait... just looked at Dave's site again and found most of what I needed about the basic parts. Now I just gotta find a rack, chainguard, headlight...

Still would like to know if anyone else has one. Tons of monark and snyders, but where's the cwcs?
