Finally riding a big boys bike
Greetings, I've recently restored/enhanced a 46 Schwinn Admiral. I did all the work on this bike and its looks good and rides like a dream. I took the pile of parts and started by media blasting frame but did replace the fenders, too roached. I polished the original springer assembly (light pitting) Replaced with proper chain ring crank assembly, has minty proper pedals, of course new bearings through out, excellent 56" chain, powder coated rims, stainless spokes , rebuilt and re chromed hubs (new departure), original saddle professionally covered. Jet black/white base coat, painted, striped and pinstriped by me and finished in clear coat. I love black and white bicycles like my hot rods and Harleys. Also the one year only bike has this useless pencil type kickstand that allows the bike to fall over easy which it has! Im not an expert in bikes but I can say it rides and looks nice. I would trade for a late 20's or early 30's motorbike tank type. Crusty is ok but want it where I can ride and stop it. Or $1200 pm me, or email me, [email protected] or call me 775 2325645. Thanks, Roger

That looks great!!!!! That said;

I would source and install the proper hardware as far as fender bolts, chain guards screws, etc.

Try to find the proper (or close) correct style stuff.

I hope you don't take this the wrong way.

I take professional advice as a welcomed note. And also I think it will look good to pinstripe the wheels. I will do in black tomorrow....Roger

That is absolutely stunning Roger. Wish I had the extra cash, that would look real nice next to my 41 Black Streamliner.

As long as your open for suggestions or advice. Schwinn's seat post clamps always had the nut on the right side.

I lettered a license plate that could be hung off the seat or whatever. I'm not the Von Dutch I use to be now that I'm in my 60's so some bits of my work is a little shakey but I enjoy trying.....
