Riding a '38 Autocycle Deluxe
So, I went south to dixie again to visit family for Thanksgiving. The Lord blessed us with a great visit. I'm riding shotgun now, dad is driving. We went to visit family graves in Elizabethtown. We were going to grab a little ice cream when we passed an old bike shop off HWY 62.
I immediately wanted to stop.
My dad grew up in this area and his mom bought him a 10 speed at this very shop in 1981. They were a Schwinn dealer then. After Schwinn folded, they became a Trek dealer.
The original shop owner still runs the shop. He also runs a Scout shop in the back. I was speaking with one of the mechanics while he showed me his rusty gold. He was just as enthusiastic about them as I was. Meanwhile, my dad and the shop owner were talking about the way E-Town used to be.
Long story short, we had a great visit. We met some very nice people, brought back old memories, had some laughs, took pictures, and my dad made his first purchase since 1981. See y'all in Ohio!
