Finally riding a big boys bike
This bike was my birthday present for my 14th birthday. This bike was ridden Philadelphia city ridden hard in its life time. I mean really hard. And it was even woods ridden hard. Lots of rims were taco’ed. Lots of derailers ripped off, crank arms, chainrings and even the protective rock rings were torn apart. I recall starting at the top of the famous art museum steps and by the time I was near the bottom I completely cleared the last flight of stairs. When I landed I bent the handlebars symmetrical on both sides you were swear they were just normal bars with the “rise” turned upside down. Almost every single part has been changed on this bike multiple times. OG parts that remain are the stem and brakes. And of course this amazing frame that will NOT die and completely changed the way I look at all Jamis bikes. Enjoy:

It looks like you got your parents got there moneys worth out of it with you. I always liked Jamis bikes, Back in the day some women team rider I thought was hot at the time rode one. I cant remember her name. But I did once have a jamis dakar, probably due to all the publicity she got in the magazines at that time.

My Brother is still riding that Jamis today, as I owed him a frame for breaking one of his.

I found one of those in red several years ago for cheap. I fixed it up and gave to a kid in the neighborhood who had out grown his Schwinn 24" Ranger. It took him about 4 months to turn it into a total wreck. He abandoned it somewhere and it was taken, probably by a scrapper.
