Finally riding a big boys bike
Black Phantom #H28134, Jan. 1953. I bought this Phantom in '93 in Pana, IL, and it was a wreck. Restored 1993-1995. Saved all original parts I could. (frame, guard, springer, bearings, hardware, and neck) Replaced some missing parts from Memory Lane. (fenders, tank, light) Rack is from Maple Island Supply. Other parts from Schwinn obtained during '95 when Centennial Phantom came out. New Schwinn parts: Phantom seat, badge, grips, pedals. Rims are Schwinn S-2 single knurl made in Hungary. Tires are Schwinn Typhoon Cord by Coker. Non-locking springer. I have locking steering tube but it needs work and will be included. All parts correct for Phantom except bars. 26" were stock but I put 28" from Memory Lane on for more reach. Nice New Departure rear and okay Schwinn front hub. I had a speedometer on it and it's been ridden 60 mi. since resto. PM me for more details. Gary
