Sunday's Show and Tell ... 12/18/22

-
I got six more Wise keys to add to my pile. And this very rare Lindy badge.

I got a cool boat light ( yes, I've shown it already) missing the flag mast, still cool. I searched on Feebay for awhile and came up with what looks to be the correct one, bought it ( seller is in Wa./west coast, I'm in the middle of Canada, 60 miles from the U.S. border) he shipped it and it took a trip south to California/LA, then to Toronto, Canada (almost to the east coast of Canada) then was dispatched to Australia? Say what? I basically gave up, bought another light (less fancy) off Feebay with a mast that looked correct, not as good as the one "down under" but it at least arrived in 1 day from "Tiny" Ontario Canada on scenic Georgian Bay on Lake Michigan. It seems the one from Wa. has been found and shipped from Australia, last seen in Vancouver, Canada ( which is where it should have gone initially) and has cleared Canada Customs ( $15.30 in taxes) and is on route to me in Winnipeg. Here is it's path to date. I put a small remote battery light in it for effect. I will probably put the fancier mast on if and when it shows up.

Picked up this 26” single speed off Craigslist Monday. Been a 29er guy since my first Surly Karate Monkey in 2007 but earlier this year my buddy got an old 26” mtb and it was a lot of fun to ride.

I really wanted something cooler like a Surly 1x1 or one of the Bianchi “SS” series but this was local and $200. Can’t beat that. I think this is a very early Mono Cog as the SN ends in 00037 and those decals look like something out of 1998. I peg it at a ‘99. Can’t find one on the internet so?

The plan is to have it for an around town beater and camping bike. Something I won’t be too sad if it gets wrecked or stolen.

Here’s some before pics and after I changed out some stuff to preference like tires, stem, bars and adjusted the loose hub bearings.

Also picked this up yesterday. I will be doing a dedicated project rides thread on the cleaning of this one. Maybe paid a bit more than I should’ve given the condition once I saw it in person but the guy drove it to me and his girlfriend has a Coppertone Stingray that I have dibs on, too.

I’m cautiously optimistic that it will clean up nicely. 🤞🏼

A huge thanks to Chris @tacochris for picking this one up, packing, and getting it to me. 1955 girls red Phantom. Now I only need a black one to have a full set of the girls bikes which were only offered in 1955. V/r Shawn

Shawn, I for one am wondering how that Aerocycle deal worked out on Ebay. If you got burned, pleases let us know so we can all learn a lesson and avoid that seller. This is beautiful. How about a line up of them all! Have a great day! Bob

Bob,
Surely you know I was only kidding. This was an obvious scam and there is no way I would have ever sent any money for that bike!
