Finally riding a big boys bike
Here are some pictures of the latest addition to my collection, a February 1974 Opaque Red Speedster. I searched quite awhile for a three speed version with a 21" frame and I finally found one. The bike has been overhauled and detailed with some accessories added. I installed lever covers, crossed flag valve caps and a period correct Schwinn approved generator set. The frame is stamped February of 1974 with most of the components dated late '73. Aside from some minor top bar scratches and two or three chips, the bike is in beautiful condition and all original including the tubes and tires. Even though it isn't very rare or valuable, its clean lines and one year color make it a keeper to me. If anyone has information about Tuffy's Mower and Cycle Shop in Morton Grove, Ill., I would appreciate it. I hope you enjoy the pictures of my humble Speedster.

Nice and clean! I just got a 72 in nice original condition, freeeeee!

Thank you for the nice feedback and comments, cabers. It makes me feel like I'm part of a vintage bicycle collecting family.
Cheers to the CABE and it's members.

Gorgeous ‘74 Schwinn!

I’ve always loved the old dealer water slide decals. Provides more character for an old classic bicycle.
Your bike has the same “badge” design as my ‘63 Stingray.
