Pretty much everything from 37-41 isn't very accurate on that list.
Tim's list is much closer, but all these lists need to be taken with a grain of salt. It seems obvious at this point given how many examples of bikes we all get to see via the interwebs that there were overlaps in both directions as old stock gets used up, new features and changes rolled out mid-year, etc. It isn't black and white, the serial is just part of the picture and one must take into account other parts or features that make a particular bicycle a specific year model.
In other words, we should all stop thinking of the serial number as a VIN.
