On Training Wheels
Hi all,
Can anyone tell me if this is a Hercules or a Coventry Eagle or what? It was my dad’s bike as a youth. He must’ve acquired it used in Detroit in the 40s.
I’d like to restore it but I don’t know what it is.
I can’t seem to find the logo or head badge posted anywhere. Any ideas?
Carl

I've seen A Hercules Royal Prince from the '50's, but the decals on this one don't mention anything about Hercules, and the lugs don't look the same. What kind of rear hub does it have? Sturmey-Archer was the most common, but Hercules and Brampton hubs are also found on English bikes from the '50's.

Hub was so rusty. I didn't see anything on it. Do you have a suggestion on how to clear off the rust without removing the numbers?

@GTs58 is right, the names and numbers are stamped into the metal, so you don't have to worry about scrubbing them off.
