RIP Ed, I enjoyed talking with him at AA. Last time I saw him there I picked up a Manton & Smith Standard badge and talked with him about it. Also picked up some newsletters of his he was letting go.
 
This little old guy was a paratrooper, an amateur boxing champ in Chicago, and worked at the Schwinn factory.
He also amassed hundreds, if not thousands of bike head badges and was a regular fixture at the Midwest shows.
Above all, Eddie was a great guy and a legendary character of this hobby.
 
LOL Ed was a complete jagoff….he screwed me out of a bike i was dealing on at a flea market…completely heartless and we know one another.and then he actually told me the story about how he screwed a guy out of a bike at a flea market… not realizing who he was talking to
 
My old competition.lol.Good old bicycle Ed.worked with him at a few shows.He was a slick deal maker
