i got my velo orange lever today, and have to rummage around for an inner cable that will reach waaay back to the drum brake, but it looks like this lever will have enough travel to work.
i thought about a front drum brake, but not sure if those old fork blades will be up to the task. this bike will be a neighborhood and special event rider, so speed isn't going to be a thing for this old man, so i'm hoping the rear drum will be enough for my purposes. can you post a few more...

got this frame from glenn rhein for a project to share with my grand daughter. she has a 1935 single speed that we worked on first over the winter and now mine is nearly ready so we can ride together! she put silver surfer comic cut outs on her rims. i made mine into a 5 speed... old knees!
i decided to order a long pull lever from velo orange. i already readjusted and tweaked as much as i could with the drum lever but just couldn't get enough travel on the tektro lever. thanks for everyone's input.
so i have an atom rear drum brake/5 speed hub, and i need a brake lever suggestion. i tried a tektro lever that i had in the parts bin, but i run out of lever pull travel distance (hits the handlebar) before the brake is fully engaged. do i need a long pull lever for this brake? any suggestions...
