    1973 Raleigh Lady's DL-1 Tourist

I love these with the Dutch style curved to tube. GLWS

    Anyone familiar with Zandvoort

@non-fixie There's a story behind that, and I'm not going to relay it perfectly, but it goes something like this: On their first shipment, they had a deal lined up with an insider which I believe was a bike co-op that procured the bikes, and let them sort through and refurbish on site before...

STILL LOOKING- WTB 1964 SEARS SPACELINER MENS 26” CHROME BICYCLE

Very true, but I read your post the same way Curtis did. It indeed seemed as if you were indicating your price. And, to be frank, I believe you were, consciously or not.

My attempt at a rat bike.

Yeah, the brightly contrasting wheels are a bigger point of contention for me. And I've done red wheels on flat black (on a Vespa, of all things). I'm not going to knock anyone's work. I just think the OP did a fantastic job here, and only want to let him know I like what he did better this way...

My attempt at a rat bike.

I think you hit a home run! The flat black / red look is overplayed. And a definite no to added rust. There's enough organically rusted bikes out there (I have my share, so not a judgement). Keep it clean.

    Anyone familiar with Zandvoort

The green one was always the only choice, as it's about a half-hour's drive away. Funny thing about shipping one: There is a group in Manitoba (central Canada) who is importing Dutch bikes by the hundreds, refurbishing them, and selling. It began as a university social experiment - they wanted...

    Anyone familiar with Zandvoort

@non-fixie - Thank you for that. The "sticker brand" theory makes a lot of sense. When I try to do general searches, I come up with nothing. Ironically, there is a very similar Zandvoort (a three speed) currently for sale on eBay, as well...

What bike did you ride today?

1992 Rockhopper Comp for some fresh air (yesterday). 1963 Raleigh Sports L on an errand (today).

Can I vent for a second?

I just read the first post, but I have to say, that's messed up. Sorry to hear you were treated like that.

...the Dutch bicycle brand, not the town. I've been casually on the lookout for an Omafiets for basic transportation use, and a Zandvoort step-through roadster is in my area. This bike has been for sale for a while on the 'Bay for an asking price about three times higher than what I want to...

    Rust experiment

Cool - science on the CABE! I wasn't even aware of the spray gel - I think this is something I'd find a lot of uses for.

    Balloon tire or cruiser

I personally consider "cruiser" to be pejorative. But then again, cruising implies riding just for the sake of riding (as opposed to commuting, touring, deliveries, racing, what have you). And riding just for the sake of riding is great - something I need to be doing more of. But yeah, I'd...

    Shot down

Put a straight seatpost on it, and it won't feel so big. Will look better, too. Have fun!

What bike did you ride today?

It's clean because it's no fun to ride. Thinking of swapping back to 24"s (or selling)...
