I was born with "The Knack" (google it), and the good and bad that comes with it. My father was a bit of a packrat, so I also had a garage full of antique junk weirdness for which to entertain myself. I conjured up all sorts of evil, pseudo-steampunk electrical and mechanical contraptions. By my teen years, I was eyeball deep into anything that involved restoration and conservation of vintage, classic, antique items.

After a few years of trashing some Big Wheels, I got my first real bike when I was 5, a Huffy Thunder Road. I soon learned that it could transport me to interesting, far away places. I spent the late 70s, early 80s riding WAY past the tracks that my parents told me not to cross. I also picked up on BMX racing in the early years. Later a friend's father turned me on to road bikes. At the age of 13, I was completely immersed in most things Italian. Nowadays much of my tinkering consists of basic maintenance and upgrades on a few 00's - 1950's family pieces and serve as our riders.

Professionally, I bounce around both the aircraft turbine engine and high-line auto service industries. The airplane business is a fickle world, so I often have to fall back on my hobby of bending wrenches on German cars.
