The 53 Roadmaster Luxury Liner is nearly finished. Waiting on the tail light box to arrive this week. A few accessories added like the Clipper speedometer, hub shiners, padlock, and "Rat Fink" valve caps. And a few non-correct goodies like the pointed grips...
I never wash my bikes. No water ever. When I first get a bike, before I assemble it, All the painted parts get sprayed with simple green, and the chrome parts with glass cleaner. Then comes the rubbing compound and polish. In the meantime I'm greasing the bearings. After assembly, the bike goes...
Thanks guys for all the help! Just finished the install. Seems kind of an overkill of a design, but it works. Can't imagine those plastic gear teeth lasting too long, glad I don't ride each bike too far! Looks good as well, I always liked the Clipper design.
Discovered today that the stem expander bolt on my Roadmaster is stripped and won't fully tighten. Length is 6" and head is 1/2". Thinking this is a common bolt, need an NOS one to get me out of this fix!
It came with 3 large and 3 small washers along with 3 screws with nuts. I'm guessing those are used to hold the drive wheel to the spokes? And does the drive wheel go on the left or right side? Thanks.
I bought a new reproduction SW Clipper Speedometer which came complete except there were no instructions included. I'm not familiar with this model, so if anyone has an instruction sheet that they would share I'd greatly appreciate it. Thanks!!
