1942 Columbia Westfield Sports Tourist with Chrome?

I'm curious if you have looked at the photos I originally put in the post, as most of the things you are asking for are in the pics. It will take me about a half hour to get some of the other shots you are requesting, and I'm not in the same location as the bike so I have to go there to get the...

1942 Columbia Westfield Sports Tourist with Chrome?

Hi Pete. Nice to hear your info. Other than the original "Sports Tourist" downtube transfer, let me know exactly what part of the bike you would like photos of. I tried to be detailed with the pics, but you may require certain regions of the bike to be shot. As far as the gold box lining on...

1942 Columbia Westfield Sports Tourist with Chrome?

Thanks for the links. Maybe some Columbia folks may know about when they stopped using chrome parts. I guess it depends on the models and as you suggest, some bikes may have a mix of chrome/black-out as the chrome parts ran out. This bike has all chrome parts but yes, ivory enameled rims. Hmm..

1942 Columbia Westfield Sports Tourist with Chrome?

Hello Cabers. I just finished the preservation of a 1942 Westfield (Columbia) Sports Tourist bicycle and it came out great and rides wonderfully. Everything is original except for the saddle and tubes. Even the Gillette tires made in Eau Claire, WI are perfect. My question is about the...

Is my Monark Silver King Rocket 20" Wheel Bike Pre-War?

Thanks. If I'm not mistaken, the serial number plates on the bb started in 1947, so maybe late 40s?

Is my Monark Silver King Rocket 20" Wheel Bike Pre-War?

Hello Cabers. I've had this Monark Silver King Rocket 20" Wheel Child's frameset for years and have always suspected that it was pre-war. The rivet holes are on the bottom bracket for the missing serial number plate. Straight downtube, original post, clamp, bb/crankset w44t...

Monark Super Deluxe Serial Number Help

Thanks for all of the info. Mine is definitely a 1947 with later front train light addition. I like it more this way with the train light. All original is always best, but I'm pretty happy with this result.

    1947 Monark Super Deluxe

Hi. I was wondering if you saw my recent post about the Monark Super Deluxe. The post title says something like 1951 Monark Super Deluxe need help dating. Turns out it is a 1947 with a not-so-bad refurb paint job and a train light added instead of the pedestal light. The bike looks great...

Monark Super Deluxe Serial Number Help

After digging deeper it seems you are correct with the 1953 assessment. The thing that threw me off was the small horn tank button. I thought the button was larger on Super Deluxes from this era. A good friend of mine and his dad "restored" it and I took it in on trade. The paint is really...

Thanks for the info. Closer inspection of the serial number badge indicates an extra 1 at the end. Serial number AO174651

Hello. Looking to sell my Ca. 1951 Monark Super Deluxe bicycle and needed help dating it. Older restoration. Newer tires and Person's leather saddle. Serial number on badged plate under the bottom bracket is AO17465. Original train headlight works. Any info would be greatly appreciated...

1989 Schwinn Cimarron Country of Manufacture?

Just completely refurbished a black 1989 Schwinn Cimarron mountain bike and am not sure if the bike was made in Greenville, MS, Japan, or by Giant in Taiwan. The bike is in great condition and has no decal (or evidence of one) indicating country of manufacture. Any info would be appreciated.
