A friend dropped off his wife’s Giant hybrid bike for a bit of wheel truing and a tune up. What a piece of... well... you know... the brown stuff. I checked on Giant’s website, this steaming heap currently costs about $800 CDN. No wonder I like the old stuff.

That was a trend... its the special quick change”drop out” stem. it came with a dental plan as well. I don’t think they sold well.

The mailman just came and left me this months issue of Motorcycle Classics.... and dammit, there’s a one page article on the XLCR. There’s even a shot of what is claimed to be an original and unmolested example. It says they did a feature on it in the July/16 issue.

An XLCR down the Dragon should be a proper wrestling match and would be a lot of fun. It’s rarity should open a few eyes at the watering hole as well. Have fun.
