Thanks for the information. What kind of wheels should be on it. Right now it has 26 inch stepdowns. They are painted black. Peaked or regular fenders? Are the forks and springer front end correct?

Bought this at a thrift shop. Someone made it into a sort of mountain bike. It has no head badge. The serial number is all I see. 26 inch wheels. Trying to pin down year, make and model. Thanks everyone.

I picked up this bike at a yard sale yesterday. The man was older and had it hung up on the garage wall. He had it for 50+ years. His age is 81. It's in pretty good shape. He thought it was a Glenfield.. There is no legible head badge . What is it?

I found a beat up old Shelby bicycle. Probably out of the 50s. I don't recall seeing this hub and brake setup before. Is it original to the Shelby? And what is it ?

Thanks. Is it possible that a schwinn frame has 2 different serial numbers? It looks as if the rear drop down serial number is W65829. Then the number on the bottom of the crank housing seems to be 0222884. The number on the drop down suggests a 1956 build date. The other number on the crank...

I picked up this rusty schwinn behind an old gas station in New Jersey. The numbers on the rear say it's a 1956 schwinn. What are the other numbers on the bottom of the crank housing? The chain guard says tornado. And the fenders match. I'll let the pictures show the rest. It's been this way...

What exactly is this bike? I know it's an Elgin. Are the rear fenders right? What model would this be? Thanks
