I LOVE antique and vintage things. I have collected everything form signatures, sports memorabilia to cars and motorcycles. My first car was a 1957 220s Mercedes and I still own it after 25 years! I drive and ride everything I own, not doing so would be like, having a model wife and sleeping in different rooms. As for my personal bike collection, it consist of around 20 bikes now, anything more than that just won't fit. There are about 10 bike that I just won't sell and another 6 that I don't plan on selling unless it's for an upgrade to the collection and 4 to 6 that are basically there to clean up and sell to fund the sickness.
One of my favorite things about this hobby is hunting for the bikes and then getting ride your kills around afterwards. I love the history around the bikes and wondering who owned it, where they lived, where they rode the bike, it's just too cool. I also love the sparkle of old timers eyes as they walk by and see a bike. The like that the bikes bring them back to their childhood years and when you are really lucky...they will share some of those stories with you. You just can't beat that. I like helping people with there bikes, I've painted a rack, tank and chain guard just this week for a couple of guys....no charges, not even for supplies. I really enjoy seeing that part on the bike and having it hit the road again.
I really enjoy the hobby and it has created a lot of new good friends, friend that I talk to on a regular basis and not just about bikes. I also started a local bike ride in my city. So, I just want to say thanks to all you that have helped me out in the hobby and in life...."Thanks".
I have started a couple of bicycle pages on Facebook. Pop in and join us!
